Open Mic
Open Mic Night - this is where it begins.
Wiseguys Open Mic is a weekly showcase of Las Vegas's best up-and-coming performers. Each show is a hilarious mix of professionals working on new material, amateur comedians working on their chops, and first-timers being thrown in the mix.
Wiseguys Open Mic is held every Wednesday at Wiseguys.
How do I sign up?
Please email wiseguysopenmic@gmail.com and request a spot on the next open mic. You may submit one email request for yourself only up to one week before the next scheduled open mic. You may not request a spot several weeks in advance of the night you'd like to perform. Anyone interested in performing on Open Mic night must send in an email request; there are no longer sign-ups the night of the show. If you are selected to do a spot, we will respond to your email. It is up to you to check your email.
If you are a comic visiting from out of town, please email us and we will try to make room for you. All performers must be aged 21 or older.
How will I know if I'm on the show?
We will respond via email to everyone who will be on the open mic no later than 6pm the Tuesday before open mic. If you are selected, feel free to invite friends and family to come watch and support your performance. Admission is $5 for audience members and free for performers. It is your responsibility to check your email to see if you've been selected.
What if I'm not chosen to be on the show?
We do our best to give everyone an opportunity to perform but we can't always squeeze everyone on to the show because of high demand. If you are not selected to perform, keep sending in email requests. Be persistent and patient (and nice) and we will make sure you have an opportunity to take the stage. If you’re not selected, please come to the show and support anyway. Your support of the other open mic performers is noticed and appreciated and won’t hurt your chances to be selected for a future open mic.
Stand-by List: If any spots become available at 6pm on Open Mic night, then a stand-by list will be made available for performers who aren't already scheduled for that evening. There are no guarantees that a stand-by list will be available each week and will be determined at 6pm if there is any available room to add performers on to the show.
*A certain number of open mic slots are made available to touring professional comedians. If you are wondering whether or not you’re a touring professional, you’re probably not a touring professional. (Keep working hard and you’ll get there though)
I'm on the list, now what?
You must check in at the front desk no later than 6pm otherwise your spot will be forfeited and given to someone waiting on the standby list. No-shows are less likely to be given future performance opportunities at open mic night.
All scheduled performers get 3 minutes on stage. Please stick to your time. Show order is random and determined by that evening's emcee. Be sure to watch the countdown clock! Respect the time, audience, and other comedians.
Please stay out of the staff's way as they are very busy. Stay clear of the aisles. Also, you should order from a server and tip them. It's the right thing to do and good karma.
Open Mic is used as a starting ground for many comics, as well as a place to practice new material for veteran comedians. Some jokes may kill, others may bomb, but it's always a good time. Be sure to support those appearing on stage; it's not as easy as you think! Sit down and watch the show from an empty seat in the showroom. You never know...you might learn something!

Russell Peters
In comedian Russell Peters’ case, “success” may be a drastic understatement. From a solidly working-class family, Russell Peters learned the value of levity from his father and his own observations on the family’s struggles with racism and multicultural differences. Peters started doing stand-up at the age of nineteen and spent the next fifteen years honing his craft.
Peters gained critical and global recognition for his CTV Comedy Now! special, which wound up on YouTube. That upload launched a new level of fame and unforeseen success. It also led to larger and larger shows in arenas across the United States, the UK, Australia, South Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and his native Canada.
Since that time Peters has released five stand-up specials on Showtime, Comedy Central and Netflix; Outsourced (2006); Red, White and Brown (2008); The Green Card Tour Live from the O2 Arena (2010); Notorious (2013); Almost Famous (2016) and a documentary series Russell Peters Vs The World (2013). Peters has appeared on the CBS hit show Life in Pieces and has starred in several features including The Clapper, Ripped, The Jungle Book, Source Code, Breakaway, and Girl In Progress. Peters lent his voice to Family Guy, Bojack Horseman, Bob’s Burgers, and Ribbit. He has also appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Lopez Tonight, The Queen Latifah Show, and Def Comedy Jam.
“In the future, there won’t be any more black or white, or brown and white; everyone will just be beige.” – Russell Peters

Ian Bagg
Ian Bagg is a world-touring comedian whose comedy was recently described as "dangerously flawless" on the JRE. But he is not just a comedian he is also the cohost of the weekly hockey podcast, "Enjoying Orange Slices with Jeff and Ian." Early in his life, he discovered a love for hockey. Whether he was involved in minor, junior, pro, or friends getting together to play shinny, he loved hockey! He went to some camps and was cut, realizing he had no chance of making the pros. He knew it was time to use his natural talent to make people laugh. Life has been fantastic for this energetic and wildly funny boundary-pushing entertainer. Touring nonstop across North America, he has started taking over the world with Australia, China, and the Middle East. With Europe being one of his latest stops. His fast-paced, off-the-cuff, quick-witted, animated style has him winning over television audiences. He placed in the finals of NBC's "Last Comic Standing." He made appearances on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and "The Tonight Show," A popular guest on WTF, YMH,a half-hour comedy featured on Comedy Central and HBO, not to mention one-hour specials on Showtime "Getting to know you" and Amazon Prime "Conversations"! It also has earned him roles in award-winning movies like MVP 2! (humble brag) His fast-paced multi-direction show has made patrons want to see multiple shows on a weekend. The audience becomes characters in his performance as they answer questions. Most comedians have a monologue; Ian has a dialogue. Attend a show immediately and see why his high school history teacher asked Ian's parents if there was something he should know about Ian.

Shuler King
Comedian Shuler King was born Frank Williams III in Sumter, South Carolina. He knew at an early age that he was destined to be an entertainer especially since he was the kid known for cracking jokes. King grew up in a traditional 2-parent household in the Bible Belt of the South, where Faith, Hard Work and Education were the foundations of what his parents imparted on him and his two siblings. Comedy is his passion, but he has taken a rather unusual path to get to where he is thus far. He graduated from the University of South Carolina with a B.A. in Media Arts where he joined The Mighty Illustrious Zeta Zeta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated.
In 2013 he graduated from Gupton Jones Mortuary College with a degree in Mortuary Science. When he isn’t on the road performing at comedy clubs and special events across the country, King works as a licensed funeral director and embalmer in Georgia and South Carolina at his family’s funeral business in South Carolina. He wants to keep his family’s business and legacy alive. He’s probably the only Comedian/Funeral Director on the comedy circuit. King has opened for some of the most notable and talented comedians and comediennes in the industry.
He credits his parents strict yet loving upbringing, his harsh surroundings growing up and the state of the country today with giving him his comedic style, which he describes as RAW. King says “Comedy isn’t about being happy all the time. Comedy is just as much about pain that people endure. When you hear 20,000 people in an arena laugh at a joke it’s because they all can relate to experiencing that same pain”. His comedy career began while he was a Freshman in college, after he took the stage for the very first time at the NCO Club on a military base and the rest is history. King is one of the most energetic rising comedians in the business.
Although the comedy business can be very tough and filled with ups and downs, King credits his unwavering Faith in God as the calming force in his life which keeps him pushing forward. His hilarious videos he posts on his social media have quickly become fan favorites. His recent video post about Donald Trump went viral and was even played on a UK television show. The future is definitely bright for King.

Ari Shaffir: The Farewell Tour
Ari Shaffir is an American standup comedian. In addition to his numerous appearances on the Joe Rogan podcast, he is best known for his last special, “Jew,” which has garnered almost 7 million views and was written up in The NY Times in its list of best specials of the year. You might also know Ari from the storytelling show he created and hosted on Comedy Central called "This Is Not Happening." Ari also has a Netflix special called “Double Negative” and a Comedy Central special called “Paid Regular.” Ari Shaffir has also appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience, Are You Garbage, Your Mom's House, 2 Bears 1 Cave, This Past Weekend, Flagrant, TigerBelly, and many many more. These appearances have made him a favorite in the comedy podcast world. His new podcast, You Be Trippin is one of the biggest podcasts of the year and comes out every week wherever you watch or listen to podcasts. Ari is the reigning president of the Legion of Skanks podcast to which he has no affiliation. He placed first in the non steroid category of the legendary Sober October challenge, which he also destroyed shortly thereafter so he could found Protect Our Parks with Shane Gillis and Mark Normand which he fooled Joe Rogan into hosting.
The deal is this is a dirty show. It's not completely offensive but absolutely are some parts are offensive. So don't bring that one friend in your friend group who makes that tsk noise a lot. Just tell them you're doing something else, or your grandmother died, or your grandmother killed somebody and you gotta be a character witness. Whatever. Just don't bring them. But everybody else can for sure come. Ari puts on a hilarious show every year of all new material and he brings amazing openers. So, it's just a really funny night of legit mainstream standup and you're going to have a great time every time.

T.J. Miller
T.J. Miller's 'The Gentle Giant Tour' is coming to Wiseguys Salt Lake City! T.J. MILLER is a comedian. He has been diligently working to make people laugh for over two and a half years because life is tragic and the best thing he can do is make you giggle and perhaps pee. He is famous in Norway. A skilled improviser, no show is ever the same. Let me repeat that- no show you ever see will be the same. Dare you? See them all? His hour-long comedy specials DEAR JONAH (YouTube), METICULOUSLY RIDICULOUS (HBO) and NO REAL REASON (Comedy Central) are available to stream now wherever streaming is streamed. His forthcoming special THE PHILOSOPHY CIRCUS showcases his talents as a clown, a juggler, and terrible ventriloquist. Is he a musician? No. However, he has two music albums, THE EXTENDED PLAY E.P., a hip-hop/pop/folk music E.P. with 41 tracks, and THE EXTENDED PLAY E.P.: THE ILLEGAL ART REMIXTAPE- available wherever fake music is listened to.
Miller’s voice stars as Gene in the EMOJI MOVIE and Fred in Disney’s Academy Award-winning BIG HERO 6. He voiced Tuffnut in the Oscar-nominated HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON and HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2. He played Auggie in the first R-rated stop-motion film HELL AND BACK, and Prancer in ICE AGE: A MAMMOTH CHRISTMAS. A reindeer!
On television, he voiced Robbie from GRAVITY FALLS, Tuffnut in DRAGONS: RIDERS OF BERK, Randy in F IS FOR FAMILY and a volcano in FAMILY GUY. Don’t forget GORBURGER, a show so strange you’ll just have to google it. And that’s his voice.
You may recognize his non-animated face and body from DEADPOOL 1 & 2, the highest-grossing R-rated films of all time, forever, 2014’s surprise indie hit TRANSFORMERS 4: AGE OF EXTINCTION, Mike Judge’s HBO series SILICON VALLEY (Critics’ Choice Award for Best Supporting Actor), THOSE WHO CAN’T, GARFUNKEL AND OATS, HAPPY ENDINGS, appearances on KIMMEL, FERGUSON, COLBERT and CONAN, or briefly on THE GOODWIN GAMES (canceled after 7 episodes) or CARPOOLERS (13 episodes). He wrote, produced and starred in the Sundance accepted shorts SUCCESSFUL ALCOHOLICS and I’M HAVING A DIFFICULT TIME KILLING MY PARENTS. Neither won awards. T.J. has been in over 25 major studio films- CLOVERFIELD, SHE'S OUT OF MY LEAGUE, Mike Judge’s EXTRACT, SEEKING A FRIEND FOR THE END OF THE WORLD, ROCK OF AGES, GULLIVER’S TRAVELS, OUR IDIOT BROTHER, YOGI BEAR 3D (for which he gave himself a Critic’s Choice Award for Best Supporting Character in a Talking Bear Comedy), UNSTOPPABLE, GET HIM TO THE GREEK, SEARCH PARTY, THE GOODS: LIVE HARD, SELL HARD, and finally his good friend Jay Baruchel’s GOON: LAST OF THE ENFORCERS.
Most recently, T.J. was the star of OFFICE CHRISTMAS PARTY, opposite Jason Bateman and Jennifer Aniston, i-R0ck in READY PLAYER ONE directed by Steven Spielberg, UNDERWATER opposite Kristen Stewart; a sci-fi disaster thriller- the perfect full circle return to his roots in CLOVERFIELD, and finally THE STAND-IN opposite Drew Barrymore, an official selection for the TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL, canceled due to the pandemic and 2020 generally being a difficult of a year.
He resides in Manhattan, NY, and Hollywood, California. He was born in Denver. He died in 2010 of an AVM. He is first and foremost, a comedian. His standup is “Smooth Like Fire, Hip Like Lincoln.” He will work until his death to make you happy. He loves you. He is a gentle giant, and would like you to see a live show. It’s better that way.
